Paul
Gilbert: Flying Dog
California lunie Paul
Gilbert is back with some more dazzling guitar work to dress up
his sinical, off-beat wit. The effort closes with the Gilberto
Concerto finale that is an adaptation of JC Bach's Harpsichord
Concerto in A for the electric guitar. The playing on Gilberto
Concerto reminds us not to forget about Paul's immense talent
while we get drawn into his clowning antics on the other tracks.
Gilbert is still a force to be reckoned with.

Gilbert: Bee Hive Live
Straight-laced rock with
virtuoso guitar work by Paul Gilbert and Bruce Boulliet highlight
this entertaining collection of witty, live tracks. This CD will
keep you in stitches from beginning to end. This is one of my
favorites for driving on long trips. This also serves as a good
compilation of Gilbert's more recent solo albums, but with a live
twist. There is a lot of good stuff on this CD, but the cover of
ELP's Karn Evil 9 is the high point for me. Paul figured this
lead out note for note from the original and plays it with a
style that is all his own.
